SaltyWay’s traditional rural Portuguese Moradia provides comfortable, quiet nights in cosy rooms. In the evenings, gather around the fire in the large living room to share stories and glasses of exceptional regional wines. The shared kitchen is fully equipped to prepare meals with the wholesome local ingredients you’ll find at the nearby markets in Almoçageme and Praia das Maçãs.
The house sleeps up to 12 guests in 3 rooms, which can be arranged for families or single-sex groups by request. Rooms are clean and equipped with single, double and bunk beds, bed linens and Wi-Fi Internet. The vibe at SaltyWay headquarters is relaxed and social. Guests from different walks of life can be found sharing beers in the large garden, cooking together or heading out on excursions to nearby destinations such as Lisbon, Sintra or Cascais.
The house is beautifully situated off the beaten track, right in the heart of nature in Colares near Lisbon. We enjoy the tranquility of the Serra 24/7, a silent nights’ sleep and early surf wake ups with the birds. We light up a fire in the living room at night and enjoy the cosy atmosphere of this big room with the big windows. The kitchen offer all you need to make a good meal. We enjoy lots of nights in the big Garden with a bonfire going and the tales of the day. What’s more, we are just a short walk (12 minutes) and a breathtaking descent down to Praia Grande, via a set of steps famed for its prehistoric dinosaur footprints. The house is also situated between Almocageme and Praia das Maças. Both are small picturesque Portuguese villages with a range of restaurants, bars, small shops and cheap local markets (a great place to buy your week’s supply of fresh fruit and vegetables).
