The PADI TEC 45 course builds on from the PADI TEC 40 course, and introduces you to the first stages of full, technical deep decompression diving. Upon completion of the course you’ll be qualified to make multistop decompression dives, accelerating your decompression by using up to 100% Oxygen.
The course will introduce you to all of the equipment used for Technical Diving, the emergency skills and procedures required, and how to plan your decompression dive, along with the correct selection of breathing gases.
The benefit of this course is not only the increase of depth over the TEC 40 course, but that you can now accelerate your decompression, and that the gas planning is no longer as conservative, which allows for more of the back gas to be used for the bottom portion of the dive; planning a dive to 35 metres as a TEC 45 diver could give you up to 30% more bottom time compared to a TEC 40 diver (this is based on an average SAC rate).
We offer this as either a four or five-day course. The four-day course presumes that you are a regular TEC 40 diver, familiar with the technical dive equipment and fluent in using desktop decompression software. The five-day course are for those who have completed fewer TEC 40 dives, or who may be coming to the TEC 45 course with no experience of the full technical diving equipment.
